Open Fiber to bring 1Gbps FTTH to Ferrara in EUR 18 mln rollout


The Open Fiber wholesale-only venture of utility giant Enel and state lender CDP has announced a deal with Ferrara city council to build a wholesale fibre-optic network in the central Italian locality in a total investment of around EUR 18 million. The company will roll out 48,000km of cable over the next 18 months to bring FTTH services at speeds of up to 1Gbps to 52,000 premises.
