Telecommunications service provider 3 Indonesia —in cooperation with Chinese tech behemoth Huawei— recently launched a new digital network operation center, or NOC, in Jakarta, to ensure a reliable network at all times.

According to a joint statement by 3 Indonesia and Huawei, the new digital NOC offers uninterrupted operations, even during a power outage.

It also incorporates artificial intelligence technology and machine learning-based solutions to monitor and operate 3 Indonesia's mobile network across Java, Bali, Sumatera, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. The NOC’s augmented reality (AR) technology also offers efficient network operations and maintenance, including network disaster recovery.

Hutchison 3 Indonesia president director Cliff Woo noted the company has doubled the number of 4G sites across Indonesia over the past two years, making them the third-largest 4G mobile network in the country.

“The new digital network operation center enables us to bring our network management for such a large network to the next level and pave the way for 5G,” Woo said on Tuesday.

“It demonstrates our strong commitment to continue delivering a highly reliable network for our customers for the best user experience whenever and wherever they enjoy their digital life,” he added.

Jacky Chen, chief executive officer to Huawei Indonesia —the local arm of the Chinese tech giant— said the new digital NOC would enhance the quality and efficiency of network operations for 3 Indonesia.
